Debs Tours & Cruises came about in early 2003 while I was still working for Gateway Computers. My dearest friend Bonnie asked me if I had thought about being a Travel Agent since she is one and had been sending clients on dream vacations since about 1992. I told her sure why not! I love to travel and plan trips! I hopped a flight to San Diego to do some training with her and when I returned I was very excited to get started. I let everyone at Curves, where I did my morning workout everyday; know that I was now ready to start booking travel. One of the gals who I worked out with was starting to plan a family trip to Cancun. Well, three rooms later, and a fabulous trip for the Ardans/Barker family and I was on my way! I haven’t looked back and enjoy my job as much today as I did back when I started 5 years ago.
The best part of the job is that I have made many new friends along the way, including the Ardans family. Being the outgoing social person I am this is no surprise! I treat every trip I plan as if it were my own. I also do not take life for granted especially since my husband unexpectedly passed away in December 2006. I believe everyone should get out there and see the world and of course our great country of the United States of America! I haven’t been to every state yet but working on it!
I again made a change regarding my travel business in January 2008. After working with Bonnie as an independent contractor for 5 years we both agreed that I was ready to branch out on my own and run my business independently. I am no longer affiliated with SandCastle Travel but do take along all of the valuable knowledge that Bonnie has given me. No sooner did that transpire when my sister-in-law had interest in becoming a Travel Agent. Sooooo…………I went from being an affiliate of SandCastle Travel to having my own affiliate training with me! My sister-in-law Shirl has started her own travel company called Sun “n” Palms Travel. She will be specializing in travel within the United States.
My specialties are Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, South Pacific, Cruises, All Inclusive, Golf Trips, Spa Resort getaways, and the ever wonderful Honeymoon Vacation.
